Hi i have 4 birchirs but for some reason all they want to eat is dead fish i tried prawns, mussels, carnivore pellets , squid , earthworms but for some reason they dont touch it and the food goes off and i remove it from tank. So would feeding fish all the time be ok

they are just being picky.

jsut offer something and if they dont eat it.. .their loss. They don't have to eat everyday... not even close. Eventually they will get hungry enough to eat w/e you put in the tank.

You just have to be patient... fish can go a LONG time without eating.

IDK about leaving uneaten food.. that might be a recipe for water quality going to crap... just when you feed. only feed what you want them to eat

bichirs aren't usually THAT picky. They arent' as stubborn as an armatus or clown knife of anything.

Like they said in Blade... the thirst always wins. They will eat eventually.. no fish is going to starve itself to death.

I had the had to wait a looong time before my wild retro and laps started eating regularly. They were always thin but once they snap out of it, they gorge themselves :D

just starve them...
also, you can have for example a senegal that eats anything like pellets, prawn, fish etc. but you usually only feed prawn then he might stop eating pellets and other foods even when he knows its food.
starving does the trick.

Hello,

don't worry about the non-eating of your bichirs - and the preference of eating fish!

Bichirs do not need food everyday ... i'm feeding mine only 1-2 a week - and the most time i'm feeding fish. As a "plus" the get sturgeon pellets - probably the greatest temptation in the life of a bichir. Every bichir i'm knowing is going wild when smelling those lil magic pellets!

Greetings
Uwe
