dead fish like silversides ,smelt, cut up shrimp, krill freeze dried or frozen and even pellets.. its just a matter of training to recognize those things mentioned are food.
my arow doesn't eat live he did but them i showed him the great world of frozen krill, bloodworms pred pellets, he eats the stuff right out of my hands all my fish don't eat live execpt for my gar which i just got so it was only eating live so i'm trying to get him off of it also but it's been a uphill battle so i threw some feeders in and one swam pretty much into the arows mouth and he just turned away so i thought it was sick i threw some krill in and it was gone in a second
my aro eats pellets and freeze dried krill. He doesnt take food that sinks to the bottom ie- chunks of frozen krill and mysis shrimp.. so the pellets and freeze dried krill (which tend to float, even after being hydrated) seem to be his fav. Maybe i just have an lazy aro. haha.
i feed mine gutloaded lake smelt with hakari sticks, earthworms, krill, and mealworms...every now and then i toss in a feeder (home raised guppy) his main staple is the gutloaded smelt, does wonders for growth (then again aro's do grow pretty fast)
