Feeding...

I've been feeding new life spectrum to my bichirs, but I want to switch to a higher-protein food. I don't want to spend a whole lot though.
I'd prefer things I can get from a regular supermarket or butcher's shop. What do you guys suggest that won't dirty my water too much?

Shrimp and Tilapia is a goody

The supermarket does have a lot of options.

Beef Heart is readily accepted by most poly's and can help with growth.
Tiliapia fillets are popular and very low mess-no odour.
Prawns and smelt are good as well.
Clams, squid also are options.
