I'm trying to get my rays to get night crawlers and so far no good. They just swim up to it and hover over them for a few seconds then swim away. I cut them into tiny pieces but no go. Any ideas?

How long you had them? What were they feeding on before you got them?

A ray that dosnt eat earthworms? I have never heard of such a thing lol

Best thing to do is get them beefed up on whatever they are already eating

Depending on the size of the ray chop the worms really really small like 1/8th inch slices. Offer twice a day at same time of day each day. Make sure your filtration is great and water good. What's your water parameters? Ammonia, ph, nitrites, nitrates?

Are they wild caught or captive bred? If they are captive bred why was the seller feeding them black worms in the first place? Usually black worms are reserved for wild caught rays as they aren't domesticated to our foods yet. Captive bred rays are easy to get onto earth worms and pellets so I still don't understand why sellers are still feeding rays black worms? Like it was said you will have to make sure they are big and fat then you can starve them for a few days until they take the earth worms. They will eventually take earthworms and then you can soak pellets in the worm juice and try to feed just the pellets. May take a month but should be pellet trained within a month. Then you are good to go and once bigger they will eat anything!

I have never had to feed a stingray anything but frozen food, earth worm or pellets. All of my pups have taken to earth worms and are usually pellet trained within a month give or take a couple weeks. I had one pup eating pellets as soon as it was ready to eat. Just be persistent and you will win the battle.
