NEVER NEVER forget to do this if you have an aggressive fish i forgot to feed my fish for two days because I had work. (Normally feeding takes a while cause I gut worms for my eel cut them down to size stick my hand in tank etc.)

but I forgot to feed my dempsey and he refuses to eat at night so I figured I would feed him in the morning much to my friends amusement who came to admire my fish he had eaten my pleco and my raphael catfish had proceeded to skeletonize the corps so that only the plecos armor remained the face was gone....:WHOA:.

if you have an agressive fish keep them well fed or they will feed themselves by eating tank mates they have never had a problem with

If your fish is used to not being fed on a regular basis its actually quite fine... I feed my fishes with very small portions and they have lived with being hungry since they are small and only my sankehead has consumed tank mates before... i have pacus, rtc, silver aro, oscar and gold severums... nothing happened...

how do you know the JD ate the pleco? JDs aren't so aggressive, and 2 days is not long to go between feeding . . . and plecos aren't really good eating (?)

haha ye this happend to me
my severum lives with a bunch of juvie firemouth and convicts and if i skip a night of feeding a large percentage of those juvies disapear but when i feed him regularly no one disapears

Ya, I guess if they are used to being fed you should feed them. If they are used to a couple days off they should be okay but not if they are used to a routine.

I can not speek for the poster, but I have a 4" male JD that is the MOST aggressive fish that I have ever had. He has killed 2 fenale JD, and 3 pleco. I know that it was this specific JD, because it was always the only other fish in the tank after the other fish were torn apart.

yeah I sold my jack dempsey the other day to cichlid fiend and apparently he is being agressive to all his cichlids and his cichlids are bigger than mine hes just an angry fish thought his fish would have eaten him by now
