he is only about 4.5-5 in. but ive had him for over 6 months and i think that has more to do with telling his sex then size does because he looks like hes already turning into a man and this pic shows it pretty well,

hes munching on a shrimp pellet,

yeah african brown knife, around 4.5 in.

nice looking poly

thanks dovii.

is that from the african tank? what did you decide to put in there?

so far its just them, i might get another bichir, an african butterfly, or some ctenopomas, and my friend thinks i should get a parya (spelling).

very nice choices. They are great tankmates, I did find though with my clown knife(close) when he was younger if I missed a feeding he would get too excited by anything moving and bite. He'd spit them out right away and polys are solid fellas so they'd be a tad dazed but fine. The knives have bony tongues their bites can look like scratches. As he got older he simmered down and got better at telling the difference.

payara. are those the fish that kinda stand on their heads with their neck bent WAY back?

i think those might be glass headstanders and people confuse them alot but i think they are different fish.
