"Feelers" Bitten Off

one of my bichirs seemed to have one of his feelers (the thing on top of their mouth) bitten off.
do you think he can recover and grow a new one?

To clarify those are not feelers but nostrils in fact one of 4 they have 2 for intake (visible)and 2 for for outflow (very hard to find but there).And yes unless infection or the base is damaged it should grow back-Anne
