elk river mn
lost all 6 of my jaguar catfish in the last 3 days ! have done NO tank changes except waterchanges and mechanical filter cleanings .nitrates, nitrites, ammonia are all at 0,0,0 all other fish appear to be fine .
I have FX5 full of bio stuff and a magnum 350 with paper water polishing element in it that i change 1-2 times a week
400 gallon system with alot of wood and live plants, no new fish added except for a batch of feeder guppies for fronts and indo tiger, jags were eating earthworm pellets and massivore and all were very fat ,just dont get it

Strange indeed. Devastating. My sympathies. I started thinking about a foul play but you say there are other fish in the same tank... if all the other fish are fine in the same tank, then there is utterly nothing left to blame but the feeder guppies... ??

I assume we are talking Liosomadoras oncinus.

Are your nitrates really zero? Almost impossible to do in a cycled aquarium

It caught my eye too. I think it is doable in heavily planted tanks, tanks with a veggie filter, and in flow-through tanks.
