I have a 10 gallon fry tank complete with baby and 2 juvenile fry. I was worried about the filter and finally found a sponge filter. This sponge filter is the type that is a triangle and sits in a corner, and hooks up with the airline tube.

My problem? It is nicely sitting in the corner, all hooked up. Yes, I am running the other filter until it gets established. I can't, however, seem to get the thing to lay on the bottom. It wants to float to the top. I currently have a decoration sitting ackwardly on top of the filter to hold it down. I am worried that the decoration might be knocked off and break the bottom of the tank. The tank is sitting on a matching metal stand. I thought about putting a suction cup to hold it, but can't figure a way to do that.

Any suggestions?

I hadn't thought of that. I am not sure if the glue will stick, but can try that. If I do that, I can probably still rinse it out.

just tie it to the lil nub on a suction cup with some fishing line

I would put either some carbon/bio rings/ or gravel in the filter and it should weight it down.

Mine have usually stayed on the bottom, just make sure after it is underwater you squeeze all the air bubbles out. Google DIY Sponge filter, there is a homemade one out of an empty flakes container and gravel. I have used it a couple of times and works really well.
