Has anybody raised some fei feng before? Looking to put some in my tank and looking for info on them? Are they schooling fish? They look docile. Are they Hardy? Any info is appreciated.

You can only keep one, they will beat each other up. I think they get along with everyone else. Get very large.

You can keep one of them, or 6+, but not small groups. You would need a massive tank to support 6 of them, especially if you have other fish. They are herbivores but quickly convert to scavenging anything you feed your other fish. I had mine with some large bala sharks for a short bit and it wasn't a problem, I would imagine tinfoil barbs would be alright. What size tank are you putting them in?

They get big but grow VERY slowly. Like others said:

-Solitary
-Or school of 6 or so

They can sometimes eat the slime coat off other fish. They also enjoy vegetable matter in their diet.

I think 6 is still a huge gamble. Maybe 10+. Personally I will never keep more than 1 in a tank together, after seing the result.

As long as they are well fed they won't suck slime off of other fish. I've kept 3 with no problem in a 180 then sold one and the two left behind continued to get along. It depends on the fish IMO. They would chase each other occasionally but never hurt anything.

They love to graze on algae so they make great cleaners in that regard and eat just about anything.

I have two in my tank right now, they get along pretty well. The smaller one hides a lot but the larger one has grown a decent amount since his arrival. He eats non stop and they love brown algae

Atm a 55g but they will be going in a bigger tank shortly I have a buddy that's giving me his 200+ He's not sure of the exact size off the top of his head so I was gonna start out with some small ones until they outgrow the tank then move them

very fragile from 2-6". I've kept them with tinfoils with no problem, but they are not easy to keep alive. try getting a good build up of algae before you add one to your tank, they can graze off of it and hopefully build up some bulk.
