I got a new female 5 inch barred midas in a 50 gallon tank. Is a 50 gallon tank good for lifetime home of my female midas? since they are smaller compare to male midas.

How sure are you that it's a female? 5" isn't very big, not always easy to accurately sex at that small size.

But short answer is no. I'd aim for a 75 minimum for the extra width, though personally I'd probably do a 90 at minimum for a female. That's assuming zero tank mates.

That's the thing tho. Normally females are not kept singularly, but as a breeding pair. And as a breeder, she uses mass amounts of her energy to make eggs, sacrificing her own growth in the process. Without this usage of energy they can and will get to simular sizes as male counterparts.
With all that said, a 50gal can be used as a grow out tank till about 6 to 8 inches. Then I would shoot for at a bare minimum of a 4ftX18in 75/90gal, better yet a 6ftX18in 125gal.
