My male has beat up my female pretty bad i had no choice but to remove him as my female has stopped eating . I only had my 50 gal birchir tank with 4 birchirs in it so i've have moved them into my 200gal with my injured female and left the male alone in the 50 gal . Will the birchirs attack her . The ray is 13 inch motoro and two nine inch senegals one five inch and a 12 inch delhezi what u guys think

yes probably but didn't have anything to hand and didnt want to leave them together any longer. he has done a lot of damage today so just wanted him out.

Good to hear you moved quickly on it; I don't know anything about birchirs, unfortunately. I've heard quite a bit of discussion on potential tankmates, but I've never actually heard that brought up before.

You could post the question in the birchir section, as they probably are at least aware of how peaceful they are towards bottomdwellers.

I thought it was funny that you moved the male out. It was the logical thing to do, obviously, but that doesn't make it any less funny to me that you put your ray in a 'time out'.

Good luck with checking on those birchirs! I wish you the best with the recovery of the female.

Ray and bichir combo should be fine, be sure to keep up on water changes in that tiny 50g tank thou!

Thanks all yea iam testing the water every day on the 50g and going to do a 30% water change every 2 to 3 days . Hopefully he may have calmed down and he can have his lady friend back in time for Christmas. How long do u think the females disc will heel she as some nasty bite marks from 1/2 to nearly a inch and white marks all over her back she only add a few white marks when i left for work in the morning he made a right mess.

I have a 12" Endli and a 11" Delhezi with my 4 rays and they've been fine together. And my rays are 2 10-12" males, and 2 7" females..
So you should be fine..

its now down to 3 bichirs, the female ray just ate just ate the 5 inch senegal :(

but at least shes eating ;)
 I would think the same way ... The other fish are all just decorations in the rays tank... if they get eatten then so what... but if the ray gets one scratch on it from another fish... well... They will become someones dinner

I have to say, as far as I've seen this is a consensus among those that keep rays. I mean, I like my aro and all, but I would pluck him out and throw him into a bucket in a heartbeat if he harassed the rays; if they ever got large enough to eat him... meh. I suppose that the rays get one very gutloated meal. :headbang2
