I have my female flowerhorn in with my male flowerhorn. Her stomach is swell with eggs. She looks like she is having white stringy poop. Will this affect the eggs??? Will she still lay them???

What if her waste turns back to normal? Should I continue breeding her?

Dont jump to conclusions to fast .Felmales alot of time dont eat that much much during breeding . I have seen their pooh turn white from constipation .Is her pooh hour glassed shaped?

Treat her first, when she has been better for a few weeks then try breeding her again. Besides the possibility of her continuing to get worse while breeding and dying, your male could also get infected too. I had a green terror female get a case of IP while she was raising fry, only because she wasn't eating much anyhow she wasn't pooping much either and I missed the signs of it early on. By the time I figured out how sick she was it was too late and she died. Luckily my male did not get it, but he lost his mate and was depressed afterwards for months.

I just LOVE fish. They are so interesting and they do each have different personalities! Your post just proves that when you said how depressed the male was when his mate died. There is just so much to know in this hobby. I'm very happy to have found this website. I can tell by reading some posts that this is the place for me to learn how to be a good fishkeeper. I hope your male has a new mate now.
