female con + bullied male = ???

in a 10 gallon breeder for a pair of convicts...i seem to have an issue. supposedly this female con had bred with a male con obviously, but the male con was sold. well i walked in and purchased the female and the smaller male that had been bullied because of the pair. I'm wondering if this new pair will breed soon no problems or does the female probably see this new male as a runt? Another question I have is should I have some sort of dither fish in the 10 gallon with them? and in case it matters they are about 2" long each

the cons should breed with no mishaps.breeding is what cons do best

I agree the convicts will breed that's definetly what they do best. Also I would can the dither fish idea unless you want another fish in the tank to get terrorized. When they are breeding, no other fish is safe.

thats what i meant...have some other fish in there they could focus their hate on and maybe stop being so aggressive towards each other
