Female Convict- help

My female convict has recently developed a growth/wart/something! on her right fin. Its red in colour and the babies and the male keep trying to bite it off of her. Its effecting her use of the fin. Has anyone experienced this before? What is it? Can it be cured?

from what i understand of this disease is that it comes and goes for the rest of the fishes life. my mates texas had the same thing and it would become more present when the fish was stressed or breeding, then it would go away after a while. the fish lives a perfectly healthy life bar these growths

not an expert on this by any means so hopefuly someone else can chime in...
