my female convict seems to have a very pretty blue coloring on her tail fin is this normal? What does it mean? is she really happy or mad its kinda cool. just wondering

any ideas? is this normal for females? and her orange isnt just on her belly any more it is up in her dorsal fin aswell

It can be normal. Many things can improve a fish's coloration. Diet, pH, water quality and others will all play a part in determining how your fish will look day to day. Congratulations on picking (and developing?) a pretty one. Got pics? I have a secret admiration for convicts...

Sounds like you just have a colorful female con, But if you post picks im sure someone will tell you if its normal or not but pretty sure its just real colorful.

ill see if i can get some good pics she is kinda shy

i agree. my female convict's belly is extremely red and almost covers 1/2 of her body and is especially red in her breeding dress. :D

wow that was easy i guess she felt like poseing for the camera tonight. The last pic is her male he is 3 times her size but she still pushes him around its kinda funny
