I currently have a male and female cortez ray and the male has been biting the female more lately. Which I kinda expected with the two as they begin breeding behavior but it seems like she always has new bite marks on her and I'm worried she will get to stressed out. Do you guys think getting a extra female or two would help out? unfortunately my LFS can only really get in smaller ones. Any ideas would really be of use.

Most likely from breeding. My two sharks do that and the female is always bit. The female gives it back too though.

I mean I figured it was probably breeding but do you think she is bothered by it or stressed by it? Or if another female would help? I’ve heard of stingray breeders getting more females to dilute aggression.

If you have the room, I would get another female. It would definitely reduce the harrassment by the male.

Alright I’ll probably do that if the problem comes up again, he has stopped for the most part, and my LFS can’t get much in because of the COVID-19 stuff. He also isn’t eating for me anymore but I’ve got a few tricks for that.
