female dovii, or is it?

hey so i got this little guy about a mo. ago, its grown from 1 1/4" to 2 1/2" already. i know its small and looks female. i thought id do this post now and again in a cpl months and compare ppls thoughts incase it ends up male. just to see if you really can sex at this size :grinno:

Im going to GUESS it's female but I could be wrong.
 
Its a female great guess:) and as for location... its virtually impossible to tell for anything other than wild caught. Except with females:) give her till she's about 4-5" and post again once she colors up and we can tell u then

I agree with most of this. Although if the OP is asking if it shows the traits of what many refer to as the Nicaraguan and Costa Rican variant I think you can tell with both male and female. At this size no one could tell you were they, there parents or where there generation started from.
 
It's pretty hard to sex fish at that size, I'm geussing with a male because he is starting to get a greenish color while females will still be yellow until 6-8 inches. I've kept 4 dovii's and that def> is a start of male. Good Luck They are some meanies! lol

No, sorry but the only thing you typed that is correct is "it's hard to sex fish at this size". The only thing you said that is correct is your guessing.
