It's been a while since I've been on the forums and just thought I'd drop in. I actually just got done reading Freshwaterpredators thread "Festae- Quality VS Trash!!" and it got me in the mood to throw a few pics up. It was a great read with lots of info.

Anyhow, I got this female a couple months ago and I was told she's F1 Ecuador strain. I'm glad to finally have a decent sized female as I was on the hunt for one for quite a while. She's about 5 and a half inches, maybe 6. The guy that hooked me up has been in the hobby for years and has a whole bunch of tanks in his house. I couldn't keep my jaw off the floor the whole time I was looking at all his tanks and various cichlids lol. He even gave me some 1 inch RTMs and grammodes for free. I know most of you are probably sick of festae by now but for those who aren't, enjoy the pics!

Thanks guys, I'm really looking forward to growing her and a male out to maximum size. Not sure how true this is but I've heard breeding can take away from size, and for this reason I'm not really too concerned about it. I guess if it happens it happens, but I'm aiming for some monster festae here.
 
Good lookin female. From my experience, spawning them hasn't slowed the growth down on my pairs. I'm sure it might a little but I think with all the conditioning involved with trying to spawn them, may actually help their growth...
 
The avatar is one of the males I have, on a good day of course. I have another male that I actually like better than the one in the avatar but he's smaller and I just can't seem to get him to grow with this bigger male around. If anyone has any tips on getting the smaller one bigger than the bigger one please inform me LOL. I really don't think its possible in the same tank.

FWP, ill have to take your word on that, seeing as you've spawned festae a numerous amount of times, with great results I might add. I would really like to get some from you one day the only thing is I don't have any other tanks at the moment and getting festae at 5+ inches isn't the easiest thing to do.
