I've posted some pictures in other threads on here of my FH (Also see my avatar). It has a natural looking crown, nothing huge, but with the more research I've done I've seen more and more confirmed Females with Crowns as well. I understand that this has to do with the lineage of the fish in question, and that venting is the best way to tell if it's male or female, but how common is it to see female FH's with a crown?

That is exactly what i am talking about. That female has a crown as big as my fish that I've been told was a male. Is that considered a snake skin? Sorry if that is a stupid question, like i said i'm still trying to catch up on my varieties.

what type was the female you posted before?
