female Geophagus tapajo question!!!!

hi all. i just noticed that my female has her egg tube sticking out. any idea if this is a sign that she is going to lay eggs? i just gave them a 25% water change!!!

hi, yes i have check today and its even further out. i have noticed that they both have been cleaning a the driftwood thats in the tank. the only thing is that the male has no obvious sign that he is ready to spawn. they were doing the dance and flare out they gills at each other, but that has slowed and they mainly stay close to the log and clean it alot. !!!!!

That sounds perfectly normal. Sometimes the females vent will be extended for several days before spawning, while the males usually extends day of. Good luck!

I'd just keep doing maintenance as normal, I've never noticed disturbance bothering them whatsoever
