female GT still beating on my lil male

how long does the female usually stop beating on the male....im leaning towards thinking that she might not like him..male 4" female 5"..its either i take him out..then tomorrow ill just go to the LFS and buy a 7" male

any suggestions

You sure thats a pair? Almost looks like 2 males. Cichlids will be cichlids, you cant stop anything. You can put him in another tank until he is ready to breed. "if" that is a female, she doesnt look like its carrying eggs. Probably just a sassy GT.

You need to seperate that agrression. In the wild that fish getting the beating would just flee in a glass box it can go nowhere. It is best to raise them up from juvies 1-2 inches say 6 and let them pair up naturally. It is difficult to bring two sub adult cichlids together.

once they breed and fry are removed, agression should subside
