My Male HRP Rio Deppi never shows his full verticle bars. Is this common in all HRP or just certain locals.

And are the females the same as far as bars go? And do females show color on the belly like Cons do?

Thanks.....Bill

There are a lot of HRP strains, mine do not show much barring after about 1.5". Here's a few pictures of the strain I have and thier fry.

Heres one of my pairs from Rapps. male around 3.5", female about 2.5".

They are the 'Rio Monga' variant and both have red in their bellies.

All beauties. Gotta love the HRP

Ah. VRWC female looks alot like my female in question. Problem is that she was sold to me as an "Electric Blue" Convict. I always thought she was a hybrid. She is pretty small and elongated body like a HRP.

She has fry with my male HRP Rio Deppi, so I was wondering if I should sell fry to a LFS or destroy them.

I guess there is no real way to tell.

There's lots of variety in these fish but that female definately does not look pure to me. Looks like a ConXHRP cross.
