well i have to JD and im trying to figure out if one is a male or female i know that the 3.5" JD is a male because of the long back fins and that they have a very sharp point at the end but the 2.5" JD is confusing me i cant tell if its a male or female, I need to know what to look for to tell the defference and plz put in good detail and if you have pics of a young female and young male plz share them.

thx

can you post a picture? a female has more blue on the gill plate then the male.

ok its not letting me put up any more pics for some reason but as you can see she/he has less spots on the gills than the male on the right

The pics really need to be better, but my gut says both are males. A female should have more blue coloring around the lower gill plate. Also, it may just be the angle of the pics, but the fish on the right, seems to have a deformed nose. If you're planning on breeding JDs, I'd suggest finding another fish. The JD on the left appears to have good form.
