I love the look of Doviis, jaguars, and Yellow jacket cichlids. I currently have a 220 gallon 7' aquarium which currently houses a female jack dempsey (6"), 2 male convict cichlids (1 7" one and a 4"), 1 female convict (2" currently bonded with the larger convict), and a 3" Red devil. I know that a male Parachromis is to aggressive in the long run to coexist with these fish. Could a female work? From my understanding, they are smaller and more timid. Would it work better to get a smaller one and have it grow with these fish?

It's still a risk but you should go with a girl jag or yellow jacket( you mean a Freddy right?) A male could work but its much more of a risk. I'd stay away from dovii both. Sexes can be downright evil although girls less so
