Female peacock holding need advice.

I have a female peacock holding in a 75 with 9 other peacocks. This was unexpected as I thought I had a all male tank. What should I do? I was thinking of buying a ten gallon and start cycling now so I can separate her from the rest. If any babies survive I'm going to give them away and the female will be going back to the Lfs. But I do want to see these babies survive so leaving them in the 75 will most surely mean they won't. Please help!!..lol

If you don't have another tank going right now, it's going to be tough. You could add more decor to the tank that would give them some hiding places when they start swimming. They won't all survive, but some might.

I have a sponge filter in my 75 I can throw in a ten gallon. So is starting another tank now useless?

If u have a spong filter that is already active u should b able to use that. When raising fry ur gonna b doin constant water changes any ways so ur niteates should be low no mater what. Be aware that ur babies r gonna be some type of hybrid since u have different types of peacocks. Just make sure that when u seel them u note that....don't sell them purely for what u think they are. Have fun rasing ur babies.

I won't sell them because there hybrids...I know a few people and enough to give them away. I just want to make sure I have healthy babies. I got a 10 gallon today and put sand and water rom my 75, 2 rocks and the sponge filter. From what I googled I have 21 days before the eggs hatch (please correct me if I'm wrong). I know its def 21 days from yesterday so 2 weeks from now I hope to catch her and put her in the 10 gallon. Thank you for helping!
