My blue acara pair has been acting a little odd. The female seems to be ready to go but the male seems to have lost interest. Theyve has free swimmers twice so far. My main concern with this is her fins are starting to look rough. Any thoughts?

Sometimes fish become very abusive during mating, while other times they're gentle. One pair of my Jacks use to breed on the regular and now they focus on making deep pits and holding out. Even though i know the female is ready. Fish also become a bit different with time, especially males. might be a maturity thing!

So shortly after i posted this i noticed the male acara had some white stringy poop. Soaked some pellets in prazi everyone ate some, i use about 1/2 the dose for the whole tank. Just dumped the pellets and liquid in.

Today when i woke up i noticed the firemouth in with them is looking a bit rough and the male has colored up and is now tail slapping the female.

I think i should probably get some epsom salt this weekend mostly because im fairly certain he was blocked up from too big of a worm.20190530_163431.jpg

I think i may have thrown them off when i last redecorated. Their log they like to lay on got moved. I justhope they figure it out soon before i have to try and play tank shuffle.
