Female red devil size

I was about to buy a female rd of some guy on Craigslist but now it looks like he has had her for 5 yrs but yet is only 5". Is she stunted? Will he grow more?

She is stunted if she's that old at that size.give her adequate housing and she may put on a inch or two in time but will never hit her full size

That's really small for a 5 year old RD (male or female). My guess is that the fish really isn't that old, or it was poorly taken care of (small tank, poor water quality, bad diet, etc). I would venture to guess that if it's really that old, then it probably won't get too much bigger- maybe an inch or two max.

she may have started breeding early,eggs and parental care will slow them down.its hard to get answers you can trust from the owner.if he just wants it gone,he might not tell the full story
