Hi all. I have recently discovered that my new red devil cichlid I bought a few months ago is a female. I woke up this morning to find eggs all over her cave. These eggs are definitely not fertilised so am wondering what to do. Should I leave them for a few days or remove straight away? Have kept fish for most of my life but this is my first large cichlid and the first time I’ve had a fish lay eggs everywhere.

Yes remove them, unless you have other fish in the tank that will eat them.

By now they should be getting white with fuzzy mold and won't help your tank any at all. Remove the cave and wash it out. Should be fine after that.

Thanks for your response. Yes they are starting to change colour so I will remove them.
