I recently acquired a female red-eared slider who was being kept in unfavorable conditions. Her setup was a 10 gallon tank without any dry surfaces, lighting or filtration. I took her in with hopes that she may be able to live with the turtle I already have but they fight and I don't want to risk anything happening to my current turtle who I've had for 16 years. Despite living in a completely unsuitable setup she does appear healthy but she needs another home. When I took her in I realized I may not be able to keep her, I just figured I could at least find her a better home than she had. I must ask that you be fully prepared with what this animal needs. You must have a an aquarium that holds at least 50-75 gallons with larger being better; she is a large, heavy and messy animal. In addition you must have all the things necessary to keep a turtle healthy and happy. Experienced turtle owners are preferred but if you have done all the proper research and are dedicated to the commitment of keeping a turtle that's fine as well. Pick up only, I live near Ithaca NY. I'm not asking for any money, just a good home for this turtle.
