i got a 125g on the first floor from the basement in an old (100 y/o) house. looks like 15g's or water give or take spilled out. alot was soaked up by my rug though. should i just let it dry naturally? is this dangerous in that it can make the wood bend being damp?

i went to get one of the ferrets and saw it was soaked and im like wtf. then the next day i see my pile of clothes are soaked and i thought the dog pissed on it and the ferret then rolled in it. then...that night i realize it bit a hole through the tubing of my fluval 405 or w/e it is.

if you can get hold of a vax type vacuum. they suck up water like a vacuum cleaner. it might smell bad if you let it dry naturally. if you cant borrow one from a friend then i would suggest renting one. even if the carpet is dry by the time you do as it will need cleaned after that much water.

Call a pro. you need the carpets pulled back, the pad cut out and replaced and, some major league fans in there to dry it out or you'll be facing mold issues, musty smells forever and, possibly a warped, dry rotting floor.

well first thing if u got a wet/dry vacum then just suck all the water up with it. and make sure u remove the filter first or it will make a mess inside the vacum. and after you do this place a fan or two pointing at where the water was and it will help dry everything out. because if anything is left damp u will get mold and bad smell. hopefully its not hardwood because if that much water has been on it for a while the wood will warp and look pretty bad.

I'm not sure what to say except get fans and dry everything asap.
I thought that 'Ferret Bit' was a new brand of filter when I read the title.

do that.... "letting it dry" is not a good choice..
