Why are some hybrid males more fertile than others. The male flowerhorns seem to have less fertility issues than rt males why is that?

just the way certain genes are. breeds like zz have a really high fertitly rate, where as breeds like kamfa males are usualy infertile. same thing with red texas's.

What are you basing this off of? From the little information that I gather it depends on strain. ZZ Males and KML males tend to be more fertile then TS and Kamfa series.

I was thinking may be it had something to do with what was used to create the hybrid. Seeing as male bp's are sterile maybe passed on through the cross to the rt. Does the zz use breeds of fish wich are closely related.
