I have seen quite a few tanks on here and was wondering what type of fertilizer you guys are using. i have two planted tanks up and running right now, but i need to start adding fertilizer

I use Kent Freshwater Plant. It has plenty of Iron and Potassium. My plants have shown marked improvement in coloration and growth.

I've been using the Seachem Flourish line of plant supplements with very good results. I have two planted tanks with very different needs, so I like having seperate supplements much better than using an all-in-one. I use Flourish Excel rather than pressurized or DIY CO2, and I have very lush, if slower growth. I dose Excel every day, and 2-3 times a week I add a cocktail of regular Flourish (not flourish trace), Nitrogen, Iron, Potassium, and Phosphorus, and with ever water change, I use Seachem Equilibrium. It may be 6 bottles of liquid, but I only have to purchase one bottle of each per year, so it's not all that expensive. I have very little algae, growth is steady and lush, and with all of the plants sucking up nitrates, I've been able to keep my tank overstocked without problems.

I use the entire Flourish line myself. Well except for Flourish Trace that one is kinda pointless if you use Flourish.
