Festae and Stalsbergi sexing?

Any specific physical diagnostic traits I should look for? Or is the only way to really figure it out for smaller fish is to vent? I know festae females have the stripes that males usually don't but most juvies I've seen have them so it must be something lost w/ age

Female festae will have dark pigment in the dorsal like the 2 females in the photo below, they can have bars or not.

males don't have solid color in the dorsal, like the male on the left below
 
From the looks of it mine may be male then? Its only about 2 inch, looking kind of golden on the body and already has a decent amount of spangles on the tail and dorsal

There are some pics in case they can be sexed young, couldn't catch the dorsal spangles.

My true GT is the same size but thicker bodied. Already has anal fin dorsal and cheek spangles. Or are these impossible to tell at a small size based on looks?
