So this is my first time breeding and my firat batch of fry. I was wondering how many days does it take for them to become free swimmers? Also about how big should they be to move them in there own grow out tank (40breeder). And what temperature are they best at? Any opinions will help thanks! Will post pics when I can.

It takes 2-4 days for them to hatch. 7-9 days after hatching to become free swimming. It's better to start them in a smaller tank till they get around 1/4" or bigger then move them to the 40. I keep my temp at 83 degrees. The high temp helps speed with their development.

So will a 30 gallon work fine then. And untill how big should I keep them with there parents.
A 30 gallon would be fine for now.....if you are planning to keep them along with the parents , keep a sharp eye on the parents...if you see them handling their Fry's well...you can keep them together upto 30 days.
If not you can separate them 1 week after birth.
Answering your question on feeding...Microworms for a week , powdered cichlid food , wine/beer worms and they should do real swell
