Do anybody know if a festae is Generally normally more aggressive than a Grammodes? Or is it the other way around? I know my question depends may depend on several situations, but I am just talking Generally... Every time I try to house those two in the same tank, I am unsuccessful, and the Grammodes is always the more aggressive one. I have made several attempts in a 360 tank with no success. I always thought that the Festae was the more aggressive one, hmmm... Each time that I have tried the Festae was the larger of the two, but the Gammodes with not let him live in the tank with him. I am just curious, if my thinking was wrong about the aggressiveness between the two...

I kept a pair of grammodes and a pair of festae together and never had a problem until my festae spawned. The festae were 2x bigger (grammodes were about 4 inches). When the festae eggs hatched, they killed the grammodes overnight.

I think that at the size youre keeping the grammodes, youre lucky that they let anything live with them, especially carpintis. If you try it again, id divide the tank for a month and give the festae a 3rd of it. Then remove the divider and Id be surprised if it was the same situation.

Where can I get a divider from? I went to Lowes store, I thought I would cut something that I could use as a divider and couldn't find anything? If you know of anything I could use, where would I find it, and what is it called?

Its called lighting diffuser (2' x 4' White Polystyrene Eggcrate Louver) and is in the lighting section at lowes, usually on the bottom racks stacked. It looks like this, and Ive only ever seen it in white:

It fits perfectly in my 265 but youll have to tie some pieces together or something to fit in a 360 Id imagine.

Also, since the grammodes allow your carpintis to live, you might be more successful with a smaller festae, especially if you sneak it in the tank with 4 or 5 other fish around the same size...and especially if the festae is the same size as your smallest carpintis. Then its of no competition to the grammodes at all, in their eyes.

You have pics of the grammys? Id love to see them.

He just gave you excellent advice right there. My grammodes are mean too but get beat up picking fights with much larger fish all the time. Like the bad little brother. Id think given time to mature the tables will turn.in my case. In your case id. Take out all other fish so as not to lose them to the red terrors spawning fits of rage. Good luck with them bro. Throw up some pics.
