Ok, so my Festae pair were gearing up to spawn when the male scratched himself up. He was fighting his reflection on the back glass and ran into the filter intake. This was about a week ago. Ever since this incident, he hasn't been himself. He is usually chasing me and super personal, however for the past week he has been hiding 24/7, not eating very much, not interacting too much with his female and every now and then spazzing out and flipping out swimming around the tank running into things and beating himself up. I just divided him after he had a bad spaz attack and scraped himself up pretty bad. I don't know what to do, maybe internal parasite? I'm really not sure and really attached to him. Any insure would help!!!

80. I decided it's a parasite because he had some white stringy poo today....I added Epsom salt and aquarium salt to start. What do you think is the best medication?

I've used paragaurd before, it's seems to work pretty good. Alot of times if you catch it fairly early you can just add salt to the tank, and add abit of Garlic guard to your food your feeding . My fish love it. Recently I had some Guppies get some type of parasite and I thought for sure they where going to kick the bucket. I was given a bottle of Apro Anti-fluke life bearer by a OG in the fish game. It cleared it up within 48 hours. Good stuff, you could look into if they make a cichlid version of the stuff.

I'm looking for Paraguard, the chain stores are the only ones open right now and they don't carry it. I added an extra air stone because he is at the top of the water. My lfs opens at 10 tmro I'm praying he makes it till then, I'm really worried. He doesn't look every good.

Around me the only chain stores that carry it is Petsmart. I don't know if that helps you though. Good luck man, know how much you care about your festae. I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya.

ya, he is doing ok. well he is alive. he isn't hanging around the top anymore, i added prazipro today. I have his whole area covered with a towel so he is in a nice dark, calm environment. so i guess the only thing to do is wait. he still isn't eating though and if i peak in on him he almost goes like upside down. but he seems stable to say the least. he isn't getting worse like he was yesterday.
