I hate to say this but that's not a Festae, that's a Mayan cichlid. Someone sadly screwed ya over on that deal. Here's a pic of a Festae and a Mayan, showing some of the key differences between them. The Festae is on top while the Mayan is on the bottom.

From looking at some pictures of "Festae Cichlid" on google, I think it would depend on which subfamily or whatever the OP's festae comes from...
AMPHILOPHUS FESTAE or Mesoheros festae.

Thanks for clarification. Unfortunately its sad that i got this from reputable pet store. Seems like they been poorly managed. Taken offer on this mayan.
Yeah sadly this is a really common thing to happen now a days. Since it came from a pet store tho I can almost guarantee that it was an accident rather then on purpose.

Good luck with sell this guy tho. Hope everything ends up well.

Yes and no. Only differences between the 2 is just over all body color. The same key identifiers are still present in both. Here's a pic of a Mesoheros Festae for comparison. Slightly different color but every identifier is still the same.

There is only one true festae to the best of my knowledge, they are currently classified as mesoheros. Formerly cichlasoma which is just used as a catch-all. Amphilophus is incorrectly used sometimes, and the Mayan cichlid is referred to as the "false red terror", while festae is called the "true red terror".

source updated July '19 https://www.fws.gov/fisheries/ANS/erss/uncertainrisk/ERSS-Mesoheros-festae_FINAL-Apr2020.pdf

“In the ornamental fish trade, “C.” festae is often marketed as the “Red Terror” and “C.” urophthalmus as the “False Red Terror,” but many of the so-called “Red Terrors” offered by pet shops are true “C.” urophthalmus and the name is even sometimes misapplied in aquarium fish publications (see Axelrod et al. 2005).”

Taxonomic Hierarchy and Taxonomic Standing From Fricke et al. (2019): “Current status: Valid as Mesoheros festae (Boulenger 1899).”
