Hi guys, I've been trying to intoduce my little female festae to my much larger male for the last month or so and it looks like it's starting to succeed!!!:headbang2.
A few days ago I changed the aquascape and put a divider back in as I was going to seperate the two fish and allow the female to grow a bit more. The divider has been made to allow the smaller female to pass through. Within a few hours of doing this I found the female had passed through onto the males side of the tank and they seem to be getting on great. Have left the divider in just in case tempers flair up, is there anything else I should do or watchout for???

Maybe , if you havent already, you could read ALL the threads on MFK about festae & their spawning habits that you can find...but it looks like youre doing everything the right way.

I firmly believe that real wood and plants had something to do with mine spawning as prolifically as they did. I never got them to do it before I added tons of plants and wood.

Good job...yours look great. Just keep an eye/ear out for any trouble because things can get bad fast...especially at such small sizes.

Raising the temp increases swaning chance but also increases aggressiveness (give live food).

I would just keep watch for a couple of days. As some else mentioned raising them temp will increase there desire to spawn.

i know this is wrong for me to do this but it works all the time when i pair up my fishes. and i know festaes are hard to pair up but mines are looking like they are slowoly starting to pair up. what i do is i put the pair together in a 5 gallon bucket with filter and heater for half the day and keep a very close eye try to limited them from seeing you. after that you can put them back in and wait a day or two they might pair up.
