Has anybody been successful at raising a Festae with a Green Terror (Stalsbergi) long term? I haven't, just wondering has anybody else done it successfully? I have a 360 tank that I am going to try and add 3 Stalsbergi into the tank with 2 Festae, 2 Ornatums, 2 Umbee, and 2 Atromaculatums. The Atromaculatums are the largest about 6" and the rest are all around 3 to 4 inches. So there will be a total of 11 cichlids in the tank of course temporarily with the Umbees, I plan on leaving removing the Umbees when the time comes, right now they are the smallest amongst them all.

I am raising some small Festae in a grow out tank and will introduce them to my green terror tank when they get big. I don't know if it will work. GT are mild tempered fish and don't get as big as Festae. May be a male GT can be compatible with a female Festae as female are smaller. Since both GT and Festae came from the Pacific rim of Peru and Aquador, they may cross and create Red Green Terror.

I lost four 3" stalsbergi due to aggression from convicts and heroina that were smaller. Your other cichlids are more aggressive than what killed my stalsbergi. Stalsbergi are not readily available. I would not risk it.

Convicts mature faster than Stalsbergi (large cichlids), although I understand your caution about trying it. Thanks everybody for the advice, I did want to try it, but for the small amount of feedback, there must have been no one with success.

Not true. Check this out. http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/content.php?sid=4847 There is one case of GT hybridized with Convict. Since there are many cases of Convict hybridized with Festae, there is plausibility that GT can hybridize with Festae. Crossing Red and Green Terror will make interesting Red and Green Terror.

Just because they have "terror" in their name doesn't mean they are closely related. Green terrors can only breed within the acara family.

I added the Stalsbergi, so far it is working :) although I know I will have to keep an eye on them.
