I got these two in January from Cichlid connection sold as F2 from a wild Equador pair. They sell from a couple of pairs but were not able to tell me if these are siblings. I think the larger of the two is a male because of the
face and its right at 4.5" now. While the much smaller who is banded occassionally is right at 3" now. I had problems raising festae in the past even with smaller tank mates so I am only raising these two alone in a 40G breeder.
I ended up paying 65 bucks to have these two delivered so I didnt want to risk it. Overall I wanted to see your guys thoughts, im worried that i could have opposite sexes and these could be related, I emailed them without being
able to get a confirmation if these two are indeed related. This worries me a lot what do you guys do if you raise siblings together? Also do you guys think i could have opposite sexes here?

thank you

If they are from a wild pair shouldn't they be F1 not F2? Nice looking fish regardless,. I don't know enough about Festae to sec them but the dish difference in growth rate would indicate the larger is most likely male. About the concern that they may be siblings, what does it matter? problems from inbreeding shouldn't occur for several generations. For example the fry of the fry of the fry of your pairs fry.
