when do femal festae strat turning red ,an is there kind of food that will help.i have color bits

Mine changed at around 4''. I think it depends on what fish you are keeping with it. If you have something that can make it have to stick up for itself against, then it will be colorful more often. The females are not that bright color 24/7.
