Generally around sexual maturity. Plus depends on personality, tankmates, temperature, and if your trying to pair. My previous experience with festae was at 5-6" the sub-dominent male kept to himself and out of. The others way. The dominent male didn't pay attention to any fish in the tank except for the females. The females would. Chase but not beat up everything in the tank they only fought eachother to impress the male. They were in a 180 with some gt's, Texas,and convict.
I hope it won't be too bad since the tank is 30" deep.
How long are you planning to keep them with the angels? You might end up with some dead angels :X
Major aggression can be seen really young 1-2" as they fight for dominance esp. young males - females later 3-4"
I have some in the range of 2.5 to 4.5 and they seem to be quite agressive and nippy. They dont chase that much, just when another fish swims by them the will near always nip at them even though the other fish may be larger.
