I picked up these 4 guys on the weekend do you think they are true red terrors? They were sold as festae. I know its probably too soon but can anyone id the sexes?

Yes, they're Festae.
And i can tell you that the second pic is of both male and female. Male-right, female-left.

Note the distinct blue on the front half of the dorsal and on the lower part of the anal fin, on the one on the left. That's the girl.

Festae they are, I believe the iding would be correct i my book as far as the male female thing goes for. I was going to call the same as fas as sexing before I paged down on this thread.

They all look male to me but they may be too small to tell yet. I don't notice a distinct blue or black marking on the dorsal. Here's mine when they were about 1.5"-2" long. These 3 are all females and it is very clear that the front half of the dorsal fin is black. (now blue at 5")

I don't know. Now that I look at it again...maybe it is. I can see what you're talking about, it's kinda bluish. Just not nearly as dark as mine were.

Balton777, not all females will show breeding colours, as yours are/were, at such a young age.

Here's my female at approximatly 1.5-2".
