Mine will be 4 years old this July and it's going on 13". I hear with enough time and tank space, they can achieve up to 16" but never seen one in person or photo of that size. I think greenterra might have the biggest one on MFK.
I got 15 fry last july about three quarters of an inch & smaller,know the bigest is about 4" the smallest maybe 1"three quaters or 2"....They are very slow growers,ive raised other cichlids with my 1st red terror a few years back to compare growing rates....gggeeesssshhhhhhhhh!!!It's retarded how slow the grow....hope this lil bit of info helps...a lil...
I've had pretty good success growing mine from less than a half an inch to well over an inch in about a months time. Frequent water changes and good diet have done wonders for mine.
