My favorite FH and tied for being my favorite fish. :hearts: To some he would leave much to be desired, so speaking for him I'd call him humble.. But to me he's perfect. And a new poppa. :)

And that's what matters in this FH game especially for fish we only want for solo pets.. is that we like that individual fish for whatever reason.

Today was water change day so I was messing around in the tank before I took these pics. Anyways on with the pics.. :)

there is no need for him to be humble. as a matter of fact, i doubt he is at all. he is very nice and i hope he bites you for the way you introduced him to us:D .just kidding. i bet it hurts when he bites.
sorry for all the questions but, to tell a red dragon, would it be safe to say that a red dragon is the same as a zz except for half red body or more? or is there something else that helps you to define them?

nice red dragon big ole head lol

Thanks everyone for the great comments.. :)

Actually he never bites me. If your hand is in the tank enough for him to know it's your hand then you're safe. :) But what I meant is he doesn't have as big of a head as some but why I like him is his color, body shape and his head is actually nice and not ugly looking.. lol

Red Dragon is a type of ZZ. Can't help with what actually qualifys as RD though..

looks great!

was this one a fader? is that why he's on a black background?

No not a fader. But I've found that RD or at least mine does ok with black back/light gravel. But I also have a double tube light strip. The key to me is what particular FH you're dealing with when talking background/substrate. No black for non-fader FH's is a good general rule to follow but you can make it work depending on the fish and other ways to balance out the tanks colors/light.

These pics came out dark. If you were to see him in person you could see that the black back doesn't hurt as much with the light gravel. Now if I put him with black back/black substrate then he looks horrible.
