Few Questions about convicts.

Ok so i was at my lfs today and there are these convicts labled "Blue Convicts" and they are indeed blue....just curious...anyone know if this is a "legit" fish or if its dyed? Also i was thinking of raising my own feeders, would it be alright for me to keep a breeding pair of convicts in a 29 gallon or is that too small? if so what could i breed in a 29g for a nice supply of feeders?

They sound like their dyed. You could breed a pair in a 29g, just make sure the female is either the same size or bigger than the male. Females will develope a red/gold stomach. I wouldn't use the "blue convicts" as your breeders tho. If you can just get a normal pair.

ah ic...i was thinking of getting a group and letting them pair off, then returning the others. Or would it be better off just to pick out a male and a female? also if i get a group around how many do you think i should get?

blue convicts could be any number of things, HRPs for one or a hybrid i beleave there is a type of convict cichlid that is blue in color beside the hrp i can not think of the name off hand thuogh. but i dont think its dyed also if you are going to breed them i would make shour there in a tank at the lfs alone or just use for feeders
