Heya guys iv got this flag tail wich is kept with 4 peacockbass! He"s around 8inch inc tail" Whot size do these get to in aquarium? and are they aggressive with each other as id love a shole of these! Think would look cool :) Also iv seen pics of flagtails with a yellow and black tail" mine has orange/red and black tail" is this the same fish??

thanks

I hear they don't well with others of its kind unless you're talking tanks of thousands of gallons

Mine is about 8 or 9 inches in my 165 gallon and he VERY aggressive to all my silver dollars (some of which are very large). They are supposed to be aggressive towards more of their own, best as a single species of its kind imo. Mine will attack anything silver and fast moving, almost all of my silvers have some sort of scratch wound in them from it almost all the time

I know they don't play well with fishes that just hover too. I had one that started to suck slime off pickerels.

I have a 16" one and he sometimes messes with othet fish in my tank. He has a bad eye so maybe hes just a little confused and dose it by accident since its very sporadic. Idk, but othet then that I have no algae issues and dose a great job cleaning the tank. Constantly pecking on the glass, sand and driftwood.

They will kill others of their own kind unless tank is extremely large like you would see at a public aquaria. I kept mine at 12 inches with my predatory haps in a 125 without any issues. He just sucked the glass and rocks all day and kept them very clean. Very cool fish IMO.

Big thanks guys! So 12-16 max depending on food and tank size? And aint keen on other silver sided fish that hover about!! Would a 10inch Tiger fish be ok you think??
mine will eaven chase peacock bass know and then! normally at feeding time thow!!

very cool fish thow!

too bad cause a shoal of them would look nice in a tank.
I have seen them with large silver aros without any damage though
