Hello,

I recently bought a 300 gallon and was hoping for some help from you guys after seeing the great pics of many of your peacockbass I think I would go with a peacock tank with some other fish. My wife has always wanted an arrowana so thats also a rquirement. I was also thinking about possibly a small fresh water ray and was looking for a stock list and possibly for some other suggestions. I kinda want to keep the fish more from the every day variety and go with some interesting fish. so if money was no issue and let me know what you would get here and suggest a proper stock list for my tank size and fish wish list.

First of all what r the dimensions of the 300? U could put some datnoids, bichirs, and etc(thats all i can think of off the top of my head right now but there are many more). ive seen many people keep rays with pbass. Also if money is not an issue i would go for the azuls, orinos, and kelberi. Orinos are also one of the slower growing pbass

tank size is 8ftx2ftwidex 30" deep and I'm def going to be getting orino's thats kinda what changed my mind to go with this type of tank. I saw allot of really nice pics of MFK members orinos

Im not a total expert on arows but a silver will outgrow that if u r planning on keeping him for life....u need a wider tank for an arow but that size tank can hold it for quite awhile......just a heads up

well i certainly had planned on holding him for life is there another type of arrow that is maybe a little smaller?

Jardini, leichardti, asian arowana and the black arowana (Black arowana has same body style and looks way better then a silver, check out pictures of it on google.) Also, jardinis, lei's and asians can be aggressive.

I always thought black arows grew to the same size as silvers.

Many of these smaller arowanas are also much more aggressive and are usually kept alone (especially jardinis). Of course, you could end up with a very passive one.

so, bass, ray, aro and...?

well for me, you gotta have a pike cichlid in every tank if one fits in :D

they MIGHT have the possibility to, but they grow a LOT slower
