I originally kept my temps around 86* and they were out all the time... coincidentally I lowered the tank to 82* for the first half of winter and they disappeared for the most part. I cranked the tank back up to 86* this past week or two ago and both of them have been out , especially heavily from dusk til dawn. I think temp has a lot to do with making these guys feel 'at home'.
If this is the case, hoping to have the nikon in the hutch next to the tank and have more chances at getting some quality shots again.
